We have a great comment that I would like to promote to blog level. Thanks David for providing us with the original tapes.
David says: Great to see all this content posted. As the source of most of this, here’s the background: in January 1983, I lost my job in Chicago, and was moving back home to my parents house in NJ (not a happy time in my life, I can assure you). Having become completely addicted to S & G during my time in Chicago, I started taping as much of their show each day as possible to have something to listen when I was no longer within earshot of the WLS radio signal. The end result is that I taped a lot of shows during late January/early February 1983 – and some real great shows they turned out to be, including Steve essentially having a meltdown on the air at one point. Like anyone who has contributed content, could never have imagined that someday there would be technology available to share these tapes with the world – and there would be interest in doing so – but I’m glad I taped and saved them, and am happy to share for others to enjoy.
