Steve, Garry & Kevin go to Mexico for Cinco de Mayo – 1988

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Ok, so I’m a little late on the whole Cinco de Mayo thing but I ran across some good tape from 1988 when Steve & Garry were on WLUP-AM. I’m going to place two audio pieces in one post so look for two down below.

May 3, 1988
The first air check is from May 3 or 4, 1988. The boys are in the limo on their way to Mexico for a Cindo de Mayo broadcast. The limo is pretty full because Steve, Garry, Kevin, Jim Shorts and Eddie are all in there.

May 5, 1988
Well the whole Mexico thing didn’t work out because of technical issues. So instead, the boys broadcast from the beach at a hotel in San Diego.

Enjoy!!

Steve & Garry – Sam Kinison – May 1989 (1/2)

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

First a quick note: Thanks to several fans of this site, I have received a good handful of Steve & Garry audio both in mp3 and cassette form over the past few weeks. Thank you, this is very much appreciated. For readers (listeners) of this site this is great news for you! I will try to post more material, more often. A lot of the new material is from WLS-FM, WLS-AM and WLUP-AM (1985 – 1990). If you have audio you would like to donate, please read this.

Speaking of new material…

Sam Kinison was a frequent visitor of the Steve Dahl Show and would never disappoint. Great stories, awesome jokes and of course, the laugh.

In this audio piece Sam visits Steve & Garry on WLUP-AM 1000 during his 1989 comedy tour playing the Holiday Star in Indiana. This show was broadcast May 17, 1989. It is presented in two parts.

Highlights of this segment include candid discussion of Sam’s recent divorce. A call and visit from Slash of Guns N’ Roses. And the ripping of Andrew Dice Clay. Plus so much more.

Enjoy!!
