More odds & ends left over from the New Year. If you missed yesterday’s post Steve & Garry ended 1982 with their year in review; part of which included a tribute to Marcus Palmer. This show was broadcast on Monday, January 3, 1983 on WLS-FM and continues with an interesting story about Marcus that happened New Year’s Eve. It is below in 2 parts.

Steve & Garry – Friday, December 31, 1982 – “Year in Review” show

So, I was going to do this big “Steve & Garry – 1982 Year in Review” post. Because we posted a couple hundred hours of audio this year mostly in chronological order for the year of 1982. My post was going to include links to all the interesting things that happened with Steve & Garry during 1982. Things like the death of John Belushi, the death of Marcus Palmer, the birth and death of “The Network Show“, S&G winning an Emmy, Steve having a meltdown and then later being attacked in the studio. It was a crazy year.

Instead, here is over an hour of audio from the December 31, 1982 show as broadcast on WLS-FM. Steve, Garry and Maggie do a great job in reviewing the year. Our audio is of most of the show starting around 3:00. The show ended early at 5:00.

(A lot of it I have not even heard yet) Steve & Garry finish their 2nd year at WLS and Steve’s increasing problems with management, engineers and co-workers comes to a head as S&G are taken off the air. Steve also releases a new EP.

Steve & Garry – Monday, December 27, 1982

Happy Holidays everybody!! I hope Santa brought you everything you ask for. Here are Steve & Garry from Monday December 27, 1982 as broadcast on WLS-FM. We have about 65 minutes of audio from the Monday show in two parts. Steve & Garry are back from Christmas vacation.

Unfortunately, the audio quality is not the greatest. Part 1 suffers from a bad case of reverse print-through where the right channel on the other side of the tape has bled onto the this side playing in reverse. There is also a bit of skipping. It is quite annoying. Part 2 has a lot of popping and clicking.

Happy Friday!!! Here are Steve & Garry from Friday, November 19, 1982 as broadcast on WLS-FM. We have about 18 minutes of audio from the 5 o’clock hour. The Necco wafer fun continues.

We are also debuting a new Dahl song on the site. This is the first time “I’m a Wimp” appears on the SD Audio Vault. There is also more S&G singing fun at the end of this aircheck.
