Here are Steve & Garry from Thursday, May 6, 1982 as broadcast on WLS-FM. There is over 60 minutes of audio that is presented below in 3 parts.

This show highlights the beginnings of the “Best of” show. Working 6 days a week is just way too much for anyone to do, week after week. Steve & Garry have been talking with management about getting the occasional Saturday off (summer is coming for goodness sake!) and substituting a “Best of” show. The creation of a “Best of” show may be another Steve Dahl original.

The birth of a parody song – Also in Part 3, Steve sings Falklands live with the background music. The lyrics will eventually change for the final version. He will do this several times over the next few shows.
