Steve & Garry Live at the Rose Bowl Parade – 1/1/81 (1/5)

Happy New Year!! This will be our last segment for 2009. I’m so looking forward to putting this year (decade) behind us. In this 5-parter, Steve & Garry are live from the 92nd Annual Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena. This was broadcast locally on WLUP-FM on January 1, 1981.

Steve still has the network and this show is live on 5 stations: WLUP-FM (Chicago), WQFM (Milwaukee), WABX (Detroit), KPAS (El Paso), KROQ (Los Angeles). He is trying to simulcast the video from the local TV feeds. If Steve & Garry did the audio from the Rose parade every year, I would have probably watched.

Excellent post! This is one of those broadcasts that I’ve heard references to over the years, even little audio clips, but I’ve never actually listened to it all. Thanks for sharing (again) and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Rock on!!
